Down On The Farm

| Ashley Moor News

We cant believe how fast this year is passing us by.

We now have our young bulls in to fatten up ready to sell early next year.

A big blow to the farm last month is going “down” with TB. We lost 2 in calve heifers and a young steer. What’s worst was the test AFTER being shot was negative TB.

The little pigs are getting fatter, these girls might not end up in the freezer…….Mary would love to have piglets from them!

The fox hasn’t been for a few weeks now and the hens have taken up laying again, which is a very good sign there are happy hens.

On the cottage side of life, we are doing a re paint in the bedrooms and a touch up in the bathrooms. Booking enquiries for 2017 are up and a few bookings coming on.

Christmas will soon be here and we have a plan for the decorations…..

Things to Do

The perfect place to explore the Herefordshire countryside, driving, biking, riding or on foot with wonderful walks waiting in rolling fields or in the surrounding woodlands. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and forget about your hectic life and enjoy the rural living on this wonderful farm.

We have beautiful rural walks on our doorstep taking in local wildlife, handsome oak trees and amusing livestock. Our landscapes change through the seasons, from frosty lanes in winter, to buttercup fields in May, to golden hay bales in the summer to abundant hedgerow harvesting opportunities in Autumn.
